1. Save object in visual studio.
2. Build solution in visual studio.
3. Find specific web control in AOT and right-click then select 'Restore'.
4. In AOT, right-click the 'Web controls' node and click 'Deploy'.
5. In EP 'Home' page click on 'Refresh AOD'.
6. If changes to data dictionary, then also click 'Refresh dictionary'.
All the steps above must be taken before changes are reflected in EP.
I must be doing something wrong or missing something because the AX EP
documentation says I should be able to click 'Save' in Visual studio and
changes would be reflected in EP immediately.
I am using AX09 SP1, Visual studio 2008, WSS 3.0. All servers are Windows
Server 2008. I am coding on the EP (Sharepoint) server which also has Visual
studio and an AX client installed. AOS and APP are on a separate server. DB
is SQL Server 2005 and it is installed on a separate server.
I am unable to use the 'Manage deployments' functionality within AX because
I get an error that says 'Sharepoint is not installed' even though it is. I
found a blog that explains that this is an issue because of Windows Server
2008. It mentions to use the AxUpdatePortal utility as a workaround. Is this
the only solution?
I would gladly appreciate any help regarding this issue.
Thanks in advance.
i recommend watching the EP Deployment Webinar.
