I seem to be going round in circles with regrads to deploying AX2009 SSRS
reports from VS2008.
My current environment is
AOS Server running client software
DB server running SQL 2008 and Reporting Services
Local client running VS2008
If I create a report in VS2008 I can save it to the AOD but if I try to
deploy it to SSRS I get the following message
"Error 3 Deployment failed unexpectedly with the message:
The following components have not been installed or are not configured
correctly:
Reporting Extensions
Please consult your administrator or the documentation.
See the log file for further details. C:\Program
Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\DynamicsTools\Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Design.Reporting.Modeling.targets 374 8 MYTestReport"
After looking for solutions I find that I need SQL 2005 SP2 installed on my
XP PC to enable installation of reporting extentions (also says not
supported). Is this correct ?
Or do I need to install VS2008 directly on the DB server and run it from
there ?
It appers to me that when I run Deploy the VS2008 software does not know
where the reporting server resides. How can i change this for Dynamics AX
reports ?
Thanks for any assistance
Are you able to change the Report Server used by the Report Deployment Tool
of AX so that even if you are not on the reporting server, you can still
deploy the report?
It seems that there must be a change in the
Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Design.Reporting.LogicalTier.targets
and
Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Design.Reporting.Modeling.targets
Thanks,
