Database Mirror AX 2009

i installed a database Mirror with SQL Server 2008 and a witness server wih
SQL 2008 Express.
I also opened a Case at Microsoft and asked them how mirroring and Dynamics
AX is working and they told me, that the database are making a automatic
failover from the principal server to the mirror server, but the AOS Services
have to be manuell reconfigured with the new SQL Server (the mirror) and have
to be restarted. I accepted this answer.
As written i installed everything in a Test-Lab and also at a customer. And
the funny thing: If i disconnect the active SQL Server from the network, the
dynamics Application is working fine without any problems - no impact in
working. I changed some data, closed all clients, made a manuell failover
back to the main SQL Server and saw this data. It looked for me like a SQL
cluster, not a mirror.
That sounds very good, but i cannot imagine how the AOS-Services know
anything about the other SQL Server (mirror)? And i'm not sure if the data is
really going into the mirror-database - but it looked like. Maybe it's just
cached somewhere (e.g. client)?
I reopened the case today and hope to hear from them soon.
Does anybody have some experiences with mirroring? Does anybody know how it
works in background?
