Creating a simple workflow for purchase requisitions

I'm new to AX 2009 and am curious if there's any help out there on creating
a workflow for purchase requisitions? Looking through the help
documentation, I am finding a lot of information that generically describes a
requisitioner submitting a purchase requisition, a purchasing agent reviewing
the requisition, and a manger approving/rejecting the requisition. I
understand the generic steps but I don't understand how to actually set this
up in AX. I can create the purchase requisition but I can't figure out how
to submit it and move it through the workflow. This is probably a topic
that's too large to completely address here, so does anyone have any
suggestions on how to get started, or at least all the different things I'll
need to do this? Do I need to define the workflow steps myself or are they
already defined? How do I move the requisition from one stage to the next?
Any suggestions on getting started on this would be a great help.

You should look in the "What's new in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 -
application" document. In chapter 6 setup and usage of the Purchase
Requisition Workflow is described.

Make sure it's the large "What's new in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 -
application" (648 pages). There's also a compressed version around.
I think the document will answer your second question, however I would think
that if you setup a workflow that do not demand approval and automatically
create purchase orders, you will obtain what you want. I'm not sure,
though.

I cannot get hold of the document they mention, I only find the compressed
