Internet connection

Hi, wondered if anyone as any idea's whether my problem is with my hardware,
set up or ISP.

I have a Netgear wiress router, and am on cable.
I get a very good signal form my router, and no problems when I am on line.
It's when I leave my pc, even for a few minutes, that I get a message on my
wireless icon saying "aquiring network address" If I launch the netgear
assistant, this usually solves it, but it's very annoying and occasionally I
have to re-boot the computer to get a connection.
Any ideas?
