2 hards connection make my win98 freezes

Hi all,
In the first of all.. I take the HD of my Friend which is Maxtor that has
some bad sectors.. I plug it to my secondry Master IDE2 and my HD Segeat
stil as it in the primery Master. after I loaded my win98 and exckange the
data between 2 HDs. I shuted down the PC and Unplug the Maxtor HD.. Until
now every thing seems to be Ok.. But when i tried to load the win98 again
without the Maxtor IDE2 secondry Master. my Windows98 could not access the
final Startup desktop and freezes at on of my startup( e.g. norton anti
Virus) ... I just could access the Save Mode..

any help about that issue
