I've been informed that Microsoft is aware of this bug, and will be
publishing a Knowledge Base article about it very soon.

The article is out:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/904953/en-us

Unfortunately, the news is not good. It appears that this functionality has
now been disabled "permanently" with Office 2003 SP2.

"Because of legal issues, Microsoft has disabled the functionality in Access
2003 and in Access 2002 that let users change the data in linked tables that
point to a range in an Excel workbook."

So... which is the interest to have that functionality of an excel table
linked to access at this moment? 0.0000000000?
