Does the user have full read, write, modify and delete permissions on
the folder into which the database was copied? That's required!

Putting it on the CD made it read only. Copy from the cd to hard disk on
the 2nd computer. Open the properties on the file on hard disk and Reset
the Read Only file attribute.

True, Larry, but the OP said specifically

attribute for read-only can be unchecked but when
applied screen says no can do.

Not sure why that should be the case except for a folder-permissions
restriction!

Yes, John. But, the OP didn't say he'd copied it FROM the cd to his hd.
The behavior he described is about what you get by resetting the Read Only
attribute on the file on a cd. It will let you do it but when you OK, it
brings up another dialog box that says ~You can't do that...~ and sets it
beck to Read Only. ]:-)
