In short, such a data is so large and complex that none of the usual data management tools can store it or process it (in a way that produces a lot with very little waste). There has been a lot of investment in Big Data by different companies in last few years. This rise in usage of big data (information-giving numbers) has resulted in high demand of skilled big data professionals. While there has been a lot of debate over usefulness of this spend, there is a clear increase in the jobs on Big Data. hadoop is now called a failure.
of course, even SQL Server can do a better job of querying Hadoop than Hadoop cando.

I think that it's obvious that MSSQL won the war.
and mySQL and postgresql are close behind.
