AAAAaaargh!

I'm new to Access 2007, but have been using Access 2003 for years. I want to
move/delete report column labels at will, but they are attached to the
underlying field controls in the body of the report. How do I delete a label
without deleting the data field?

Thanks.

Two things based on what you really want to do --
- You can drag the edges of the label or textbox so it is still linked but
change the position. Example drag top of label up and then bottom up to
resize; Drag left edge and then the right to wanted place.
- Click on label, using the 'Cut' icon delete the label, paste the label.
NOTE - the pasted label will appear in the upper left corner and must be
position as desired. NOTE - The label and textbox will no longer be linked
in that if you move one the other will not follow.

Hi Karl.

Thanks for the reply, but this didn't work. "Delete" and "Cut" both act the
same way: the label and the textbox control are removed. If I "Cut" the
textbox control, though, and then paste it, I get the end results as you
describe.

Thanks for the help.

I bet you used the wizard to create the form, It does your head in when you
try to modify the way it looks.

You have to delete all the fields, then in the Add Existing fields, manually
drag all the fields you want from the box.

You will have all flexibility to do what you want from then on.

There is an Ungroup button. Does that work for this?

Karl, You rock. I tried various methods to ungroup some sets of labels and text boxes. Cutting the label and pasting it in again worked perfectly!

Hi

When you are in report design view
- select the label and field which you want to detach
- Go to arrange tab
- in control layout click on remove button
