Dear All,
I am trying to set-up an inventory type database which will use unique
barcode labels to track individual items. I have experimented with printing
barcodes using the two barcode fonts which come with Access 97 (i.e. Codabar
and code30F9x1). The codes I have been able to produce are too dense and do
not scan well. I haven't been able to find much information on barcode
printing on the Microsoft website. I am trying to keep the application
simple and print a fairly simple barcode label on Avery labels. I would
appreciate if someone could point me in the right diection on how best to
approach barcode printing from Access 97. If possible I want to avoid
having to install third party barcode fonts or use a separate label creation
program.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Regards,

A 3 of 9 font should work fine. If the bars are too dense try enlarging the
font and resize the text box to match your requirements. Also make sure you
have enough blank space to the left and right of the bar code. Make sure
you have your start and end *'s.

You need a real bar coding font set that lets you control the width of
the bars independent from the bar code height. Any real bar coding font
set should do this (ours do, and there are free evaluation sets
available at our web site).
