I am new to this idea of using a front end/back end. But if I am
working on the back end, no one can open the front end. Is there any
way around this? Thanks

Well, it depends on what you're doing in the back end, but for the
most part, no -- you really shouldn't want people working on the
data when you're mucking about in the back end.

Perhaps you've released your application before it's ready?

If you are working in design view in the back end, you have to have it open
for "exclusive use". If you have it open just to modify the data content,
you may have opened it for "exclusive use". If you have it open for
exclusive use, no other user can open it (and that would prevent them using
it for a back end, even though they don't explicitly open it).

But, as David mentioned -- you really shouldn't want users mucking about in
the back end while you are performing maintenance, even if it's only data
maintenance.
