Is this user coming in over a VPN?
Btw, it sounds like you did not split your database into front-end (on
each workstation) and back-end (on the server). This is a REALLY BAD
IDEA that will likely come back to bite you. This is a FAQ - you
should have no problem finding discussions about this topic and how to
remedy it.
