Unable to open databse - getting error 3197 ??? - Please Help ;)

Hello

I have an Access 2000 databse running on a pentium laptop which is NOT
connected to a network.

When i go to open the database i am presented with the following error.

"The Microsoft Jet Database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.
error 3197"

After i click "OK" to this message, nothing happens... I can't open the
databse!!!!

The laptop is a stand alone machine and i am the only user!!!!

I have tryed the compact and repair tool but when i run it on the
database file i get the same error.

Is there another repair tool i can run over the database or some other
way to fix it???

There is no backup :( and days of data entry will be lost if i can't fix
this problem so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried opening the DB with the shift-key hold down?

Yep... Tryed holding down shift key and i still get the same error.
