Export to .rtf of "104-" converts to "-655"

Here is a problem that has been puzzling me for a while. I have
multiple reports that contain a field with the below sample data.

108-023-02
When I export the report as an .rtf the records with "104-" are
converted as shown below to "-655":

-655700

-655699

108-023
108-023-01
108-023-02
Of over 1350 no other data is changed. Is anyone aware of an anomaly
with the string "104-" that I have overlooked.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
