import spreadsheets (column names not always on the first row)

i need to import a series of spreadsheets where the column names are not always on the first row. they come from different sources, but the column names are consistent from source to source. in other words source one's column names always start on the same row etc.

i'll be looping thru excel.application, workbook, worksheet etc.

any tips?
