Problem exporting string data with TransferText method?

I am using Access 97

I have a text column in a table with the value of "STG Ł"
However, when I use the DoCmd.TransferText acExportDelim method to transfer
this to a text/CSV file, the Ł symbol exports as a block character.
However, using the Save As/Export feature in Access 97, to save the same
data to a delimited file, it exports OK.

I need to automate this procedure - what can I do?
