Labels that /look/ bold but aren't

[John Harrington]

Why is it that sometimes labels look "bold" (when they are not bold)
while other labels on the same form have a normal font weight? I can
see no difference in properties between labels (yes I checked Font
Weight).

I can put up a pic somewhere if no one knows what I'm talking about.

Is there any way to fix or work around this annoyance? I actually got
a user complaint about it. :(

With some fonts, a larger size font can look 'bold' when compared to a
smaller size of the same font.
Perhaps you have 2 different fonts and one looks 'bold' while the other one
doesn't.
Does this apply to your form?

No, as I said, there is no difference in properties between the

All labels are Calibri font. Can you advise further?

Yes, I can see the difference.
What happens if you create a new form with a new option group, assuming the
checkboxes are part of an option group?
What happens if you change the size of the borders of the option group, or
make the label for each checkbox sized to fit the text in the label?
What happens if you make the size of the option group just big enought to
completely enclose all the check boxes and labels?

Well, thanks for trying, but none of that makes any difference to the
font weight issue.

I'm not trying to troll on an Access ng, honestly I'm not, but
sometimes I just hate Access. :(

I just tested this in A2007.
I could not reproduce your problem.
I tried a variety of fonts, checkboxes in option groups and checkboxes not
in option groups.
I don't know why you are having this problem, but I suggest that it is
peculiar to your database.

I had this same problem and finally found a solution. Changing the background of the label to a solid color worked for me.
