When I try to create a data access page in either design view or with the
wizard, I can get a field list. All that is displayed is where the file is
with a red "x" next to it. I tried refreshing it and I was given an error
"Microsoft Office Access is unable to connect to the data source specified
in the connection string of this page. The server may not exist on the
network, or there may be an error in the connection string information for
this page." In the page connection properties I have tested the connection
and it succeeded. But I still couldn't get the field list to display. Any
help is appreciated.

Sorry for my tardy response...got busy!

Is the mdb file protected by security? are you providing a password and user
name in the connection string?

I have the same problem, but I cannot run the data connection wizard, or
manuall enter the conection string property. I think it has to do with the
oledb data providers, jet 4.0 et al. I have found no solution to this for
months. uninstalled, insalled ACCESS, OCW11, SPs, etc. Visual Studio will
not reveal data providers for jet oledb either when trying to build a
coonecion string to a mbd...

Try this.

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Ole DB\oledb32.dll"

This was my problem. The Data Link wizard comes from oleDB.

Hi!
I was wondering if someone finally has solution to this problem. I have
tried looking all over google but haven't find any solution yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
