I have copied an access2002 app to a windows7 OS, running Ofice2007

Superficially all looks well but when I try to make any data
changes/additions etc. I get the message,
' This Recordset is not updateable'

Can anyone help me out here?

Laurie

While it might sound like a facetious question, where did you put the
database when you copied it? Windows 7 has much stricter security than other
versions of Windows, and there are folders where you cannot put your own
data.

Thanks for the response Douglas. I moved my data to another folder and all
was well.

Next question! What are the rules regarding data placement and where do I
find them?

Regards, Laurie

To answer my own question (for anyone else with this issue) the macro
security settings in Win7 allow a user to set any folder as 'safe' thereby
improving on the options in previous OSs
