I am looking for a utility program to recover my damaged
database. I have visited Microsoft's web site and tried
Jet 3.5. Repair & Compact "Access." I can not open the
design window to access tables, queries, forms, etc. The
error message also says that the database is not access
but it is. Can you help.

Hello Linda,

!!! Please work only with a copy of your file.!!!

1. You can try the latest JetComp from Microsoft.
2. You can try to repair your Database with a
higher Access Version ( 2000, XP ).
3. You can import your corrupt database in
a new empty database.
4. You can try ODBC to connect to your Database

Best Regards

There you go again Marcus with your auto-generated response, and yet
again, you ignore the situation at hand by recommending steps the
poster has already tried.

If you're going to spam the group in violation of the charter, you
could at least take the time to respond to the particular issue raised
rather than just firing off you're standard paragraph.

Thank you for your reply. Please note this database has
not be normalized. Can you give me an idea of the cost
involved. I need to evaluate the repair cost against
updating a back up from one month ago or retrieving from a
total system back up. The error message says the database
is not repairable and that it is not an access database
but it is. I believe what happened was someone access the
file while I was working on the server (main data file
stored). Thanks Linda Daniels
