Windows cannot print to LPT2 with a new card added

Windows 98 will not print to LPT2 with any extra card I add. I have
tried PCI, ISA, and USB versions of either cards or cable converters.
Nothing will print to LPT2, no matter what the spool and port settings
are. It will print if I boot to an MS-DOS prompt and type "DIR >LPT2".
I get the error: Spool32 has caused an ipf in module Spoolss.dll
whenever I try to print directly to printer and not start printing after
the first or last page is spooled. Can you help me out on this one?
