Thanks for choosing Microsoft Direct-Access Product Support for Value
Added
Providers (VAP). My name is James and I will be helping to assist you.
Device Manager says that the port is disabled however you are
able to
print to that port without getting an error message. If you can print
directly from dos while outside Windows and it does the same thing than
it
looks like the port is disabled in the bios and the bios isn't disabling
in
such a way as to prevent an operating system from seeing it. It could be
just that the port isn't functioning properly and that there is
something
wrong with it in which case you might have a hardware technician install
a
parallel port add-in card.
Best Regards,
James Hamilton
