We might be able to extract the files from the original install files.
First let's check to see if we have a file by the name of vbscript.cab
on
your system, this file is one of the install files for Internet Explorer
5.x. If we are able to locate the file let's take the steps listed
below,
if we are unable to locate the cab file we will probably need to run
IE5setup and perform a download only and then take the following steps:
1. Search for the two files and rename them when they are found
(They
should be located in the Windows\System folder.
2. We will need to go to a command prompt and browse to the
directory where
the cab file is located.
3. Type the following commands to extract the files and place then
into the
Windows\System folder:
Extract vbscript.cab wshext.dll /l C:\windows\system
Extract vbscript.cab wshom.ocx /l c:\windows\system
The above commands will extract the files out of the cab and place them
in
the windows\system folder; if we have Windows installed on another
partition or another folder name, make the changes as needed.
Let us know how this works for you!
Thanks!
