HI Hong,
This is error is usually caused by the server being optimized for a
specific amount of users, and is approaching that
number. After being online for a while, the IS runs out of the allocated
number of memory threads and causes a leak, making the server hang.

Reoptimize the server for more users to correct this issue.
Could also be caused by an insufficient amount of Physical Memory,

Have a great Day,
Josh Brown, MCSE

The NT server was still running fine. the client restart the machine, the
exchange server started fine and is running. I check the event viewer. Here
are the errors shows up when the exchange could not connect. I want to know
if I need to do anything to the DS or information store.

Thanks.

Too many network errors occurred while trying to execute an operation on the
global address book container. This is probably due to a problem with the
DS. The Internet Mail Service is being shutdown.

Hey Hong,

Have you rerun the optimizer? a lot of times this will fix the problem,
How long has it been since you have done an offline defrag, this will help
to shink the IS.
Is Exchange loaded on the PDC?
try an offline defrag and if that doesn't shrink the IS a consideralbe
amount re-open the case and give me some info on your server, i.e. hd
space, Paging file size, HD configuration, and what all is loaded on this
box.
Thanks,

Hi, josh, the server is running out of physical memory.
The server has 256 mg phycical memory. But the commited charge is more than
that, aound 300 mg at peak usage. The store.exe alone is using 170 mg, plus
backup programs, DHCP, file sharing. The avaliable memory is always under 10
mg. sometimes around 5 mg.
What is my option without installing more memory? Can I restrict the memory
exchange use(in optimizer) or can I reduce the memory used by store.exe?
What is loaded in store.exe and how can I reduce its size?
If I am going to retrict the total memory exchange use, how much should I
allocate to exchange. We have 50 heavy user here.

Thanks.
