You didn't mention what your other box was configured as. Is it an
Exchange box, and is it setup to use the SMTP service box as a smarthost?

I've made the followng experiment:
1. Installed SMTP service on server "server.office" & it's default
local.
2. Added two remote domains "domain.ru", which is really exists and is
Exchange 5.5 server, and "mynet.net", which is not really exists.
3. I've added "mynet.net" to Masquerade domain field, "server.office" to
FQDN field and an IP address of domain.ru to smarthost field.
4. I've connected to SMTP service with OL Express (with e-mail address
what...@domain.ru) and sent a message to my Exchange account.
5. I've received a message with the same e-mail adress instead of
what...@mynet.net as I supposed.
It would be nice if you recommend something.
Thank you for support,
Alexey Podosenin.

Yes, I've done all of this.
But FQDN which I've put to Masquerade domain field is not really exists
on
me network, because it was just a test.
If SMTP somehow checks for it's existence?
Should I create Exchange server with this FQDN?
