MS Money Sunset Edition

I've been looking for a personal finance manager program and have installed MS Money Sunset Edition on Windows 11 64-bit PC. I know it's old and not supported but it had some features I wanted and is free.

However, when I click on either the Investing, Planning or Taxes tab I get a 'Stack overflow at line : 1' error?

Any ideas? Any help greatly appreciated.

I just tried those, and get that also. Those are things I do not click, so had not run across that problem.

I suggest you click Shortcuts, and choose these as some useful and working things:

Also, click Tools. Check Settings.

None of those options are relevant anymore - they used to go to pages on a website Managed by Microsoft but they no longer work

Here is an excerpt:

Many of the Program tabs (BUDGET, INVESTING, PLANNING and TAXES) no longer function. For instance, clicking on the INVESTING tab takes you to a MSN page, rather than the intended Investing portal page within Money. This behavior can be rectified by renaming urlmap.xml (admin privileges required; found in

%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Money Plus\MNYCoreFiles\WebCache
→→for 64-bit Windows, OR
%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Money Plus\MNYCoreFiles\WebCache
→→for 32-bit Windows)

to urlmap.xml_disabled.

Thank you sc489; it’s been 10 years, since my BUDGET, INVESTING, PLANNING and TAXES tabs worked properly!

Nathan Giard also discovered that by doing the same for four more files, not only does Money open up quicker, but the behavior of those tabs (and their sub-tabs) will be improved even further:

misurls.xml to  misurls.xml_disabled
rooturlCDN.xml to  rooturlCDN.xml_disabled
rooturl.xml to  rooturl.xml_disabled
urls.ini to  urls.ini_disabled

I'm using H&B. The bold links don't all work, but the others do. I do reports, investment, taxes and other.

I too am using H&B under W10, and the tabs all function fine for me after I made the aforementioned changes. I think the OP and Cal might be on W11 though.

I run both W11 Home and Pro off my desktop and laptop from Google Drive. The mlb is zipped and unzipped at runtime to my %TEMP%. I like this since I can kill my zip process bat if I don't like something I did and not update the result on the GDrive.
