Thank-you for putting the script together. The installation went smoothly and I was able to run Microsoft Money on Ubuntu Linux.
I have one major "crash" issue, which I will report here.

I had a few minor issues that I have not seen reported, and don't appear to be in the documentation, that I have reported in a separate thread.

Crash On Account Balance
After installation I was able to successfully open an existing msmoney file. All worked as expected, except for one crash:
  a) "Balance this account". The "Balance <account name>" window appeared, shortly followed by a black and white pop-up window saying:
"Microsoft Money" is not responding. With "Force Quit" or "Wait" option buttons.
I tried this with both "Banking" and "Credit card" accounts.
In a "Cash" (Cash or Other) account I also tried "Update ending balance" and this also caused a "crash".

Unfortunately for me personally not being able to balance an account makes the use of the program not viable.
In the unix terminal, when this "crash" occurred with a "Banking" or "Credit card" account, the following output lines appeared, and repeated every minute or so.
!
0120:fixme:ras:RasConnectionNotificationW (FFFFFFFF,00000288,0x00000003),stub!
01a8:err:sync:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 036B0788 (null) wait timed out in thread 01a8, blocked by 012c, retrying (60 sec)
0174:fixme:ras:RasEnumEntriesW (00000000,(null),0A860550,09D0FC14,0140E9DC),stub!

The terminal entries before the first of these output line repeats above was:

Hi Colin,

Unfortunately that problem, Crash on Account Balance is something I haven't been able to resolve. MSMoney 2004-2007 all have this problem that creates this condition:

01a8:err:sync:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 036B0788 (null) wait timed out in thread 01a8, blocked by 012c, retrying (60 sec)

and Wine doesn't handle it properly. The Sunset versions of Money don't have this problem. I'm hoping that with updates to Wine the problem will be resolved but there's no guarantee of that. Running the UK version of Money 2005 in a VM is your best bet if you want to run it in Linux at this time.

Nathan,

Thank-you for the response, and all your hard work in getting this far.
I aim to head over to www.winehq.org and, if needed, update the app database.

Colin
