I am failing miserably in attempting to get current prices for any funds. For example FIDELITY INVST FDS FID GBL DIVIDEND W ACC UK (ISIN GB00B7GJPN73) I have tried entering B7GJPN7 for the symbol and also tried the instrument ID of ap5wqh (for the symbol). In both cases MSMoneyQuotes comes up with 'Symbol not found on MSN Money'. This occurs for every fund that I have attempted. I am using MS Money in the UK.
Can anyone let me know what I have to do in order to get a quote for my funds, please?

  1. What is the symbol that you use for that investment?
  2. Do you use -m    to use SymbolMap.csv file to resolve symbols?
  3. Is that investment ticked in Portfolio->UpdatePrices->PickQuotesToDownload?

I added the fund to my Watch Portfolio in Money Sunset
I used the symbol GB:FD1
In my SymbolMap.csv file I added the line with the two values
FD1        ap5wqh
MSMoneyQuotes then recovered the price of £ 4.622 as of 30/07/2026

Note if you use Excel to create symbolmap.csv for some reason MSMoneyQuotes always igores the first line in symbolmap.csv. I fixed that by duplicating the first line entry.

This is the assumed first line in the file:

[Symbol You Used In Money],[Financial Instrument ID On MSN Money]

Correct syntax for symbolmap.csv but the first line is ignored if created in Excel so copy the same to row 2

1. If the first line of SymbolMap.csv gets ignored, I suspect it has a Unicode prefix, and  MSMoneyQuotes  may only handle ASCII. Fortunately for the regular alphanumerics and more common punctuation, the bytes are the same for ASCII and Unicode. But I could see the first line having a problem.

2.  MSMoneyQuotes usually has comma-separated entries. https://gaiersoftware.com/Money/DetailsAndHelp  I have not tried having whitespace as a separator as in "FD1        ap5wqh"

3. There can be a third term for currency. Example from the webpage is "GB0030617699,apfhr7,GBX"
