I saw that a there was a positing to the old MS Money forum about AMEX in the UK discontinuing support for the Exports to MS Money.
The Quicken exports can be used but need the header manually exiting in Notepad++

Find the <OFX> tag and replace all the text before it with these lines and then save the file as a .ofx file, import worked fine after that.:

OFXHEADER:100
DATA:OFXSGML
VERSION:102
SECURITY:NONE
ENCODING:USASCII
CHARSET:1252
COMPRESSION:NONE
OLDFILEUID:NONE
NEWFILEUID:NONE

<OFX>

Hi

Thank you for the explanation. Is there any chance you could spell out in simple terms or a step by step guide as to what is required?

Hi

Download the quicken file from Amex it will probably be called activity.qfx. open the file in Notepad++ or another text editor. Delete the text highlighted in Yellow

Paste the text highlighted in Green (copy from below) and save the file as activity.ofx. You should now be able to import it into MS Money. It worked with the last UK version of MS Money for the UK which I think is 2002.

The last Microsoft Money version for UK was 2005.

Correct - the last installation file is Money2005-UK-QFE2.exe

If you want a Python program that makes the swap for you, let us know. It will require you installing a 2.7.x python from python.org or ActiveState.

Thank you so much.  That worked, even though the start of my statement didn't include all the text mentioned.  I had found a Prosoft converter which I had on trial.  It worked, but was going to cost $69.99 for the full version.  I am so grateful to have found this fix for free!

I see that the UK AMEX site now has MS Money downloads available again.
The header still needs to be modified as above before it can be imported.

That's really brilliant and has made my day to find this out. I've followed the instructions above (downloaded in Money format, opened in Notepad, found the yellow text and replaced with the green) and bingo! Successfully managed to import my AMEX transactions into Money 2001 Financial Suite version.
