Hi,

I`m using Linux/Mint/Cinnamon using Microsoft Money 2000 with wine version 10. It all seems to be working good but when I press on some parts of Money 2000 I get this error message: Not enough memory is available. If you have several applications open at the same time, you might need to close one of them before starting Money.

I have 32gb ram no other things running, any ideas why this is happening

                 Thank You

Hi Ken,

I don't have any experience with running Money 2000 in wine but you could try this to see if you can log more info:

$ wine "$MONEYPATH/msmoney.exe" 2>&1 | tee -a $HOME/wine-money-error.log

Change $MONEYPATH to your wine prefix. It's probably something like:
"/home/yourusername/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Money Plus/MNYCoreFiles/msmoney.exe"

Make sure you use the quotes to protect the spaces, and change Microsoft Money Plus/MNYCoreFiles/msmoney.exe to the right path.

Then paste that command into the terminal (Ctrl-Shift-v) and the log file wine-money-error.log should show up in your home folder. Run Money, do what you have to do to get the error, then examine the log file.

Another possibility is to log debug data. Add this to your command:

wine WINEDEBUG=+loaddll

$ wine WINEDEBUG=+loaddll  "/home/yourusername/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Money Plus/MNYCoreFiles/msmoney.exe" 2>&1 | tee -a $HOME/wine-money-error.log

This will log which dlls are being loaded, either builtin to wine or native to MS Money. You might see some errors that could clue you into something that could be fixed with winetricks.

Hopefully this helps or leads to more knowledge. I have not run MS Money 2000 in wine so I'm not familiar with any gotchas or tricks.
