Apologies if this a known issue with a known workaround. A quick search in the group did not find anything.

Using Money Plus Home & Business Sunset (US edition) version 17.0.150.3817.

When I enter a transaction to transfer shares of a mutual fund M from source investment account A to target investment account B, and then go to the "Account Summary" view for account B, Money just spins forever (I waited almost an hour) using almost all the CPU. I killed money, restarted, deleted the transfer transaction, and things work again.

If I enter a transfer transaction for fund M from any account to any other account, the same issue occurs. I can enter a transfer transaction for a different security without issues so far.

I have tried with the built in version of mnyob99.dll as well as the patched up version. No difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am not familiar with such a behavior.
I would try a quick file repair. Then a level 2 file repair. Then another quick file repair.

If the problem persists, you could try transferring to a different new investment account.

If that does not work either, I would consider removing the symbol for the problem investment, rename the problem investment aaB, create a new investment with the old name (possibly starting with A temporarily),  and old  symbol. The go the aaB investment.

Make a new temporary  AddShares transaction (dated before all others), adding a big number of aab shares. Then change each real aaB transaction to the new one. Once no other aaB shares remain, delete the big temporary AddShares.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the repair sequence earlier. It did not find anything to fix, and did not change the behavior.

I will try the other suggestions.

Thanks again.

Update: I updated the existing money market fund M (name N) to symbol M1 and name N1. In each account with shares of M1, I added a sale transaction for all shares of M1, and a corresponding buy transaction for the same number of shares of a new money market fund with symbol M and name N. With that, I can now enter transfer transactions for M, and still go to the Account Summary views. Not sure how long this will work, but so far so good. I need to manually merge dividend amounts from M1 and M at tax time, but that's ok.

Thanks again for all the help and suggestions.
