Favorites -> Reports can be useful. If you use them, here is a tip I just discovered.

If you open a favorite, note the name of the favorite report. To modify the name of a Favorite Report, do File->Favorites->OrganizeFavorites->Reports. Select the favorite, and click  Rename (lower right).

The plan is to coordinate the name of the Favorite with the Title of the report. Only the first 32 characters will be accepted as the name of the favorite. That can work to our benefit.

Then go to the favorite report. Click Customize. Change the report Title so that the first 32 characters match the name of the title. The rest can be whatever you want.

Suppose the favorite report is "state, fed income tax paid last y" or "Tax comparison Transactions CASH". You can change the Title of the report to be "state, fed income tax paid last year modified 2024" or "Tax comparison Transactions CASH including Dividends".

Customize whatever changes you want in the report. Click OK. Then click "Add to my favorite reports" (left column). The "Report name" will pre-populate to the first 32 characters of the report title. Click OK. Now you will get a pop-up that says "Do you want to replace your existing favorite report...". Click Yes.

If you don't currently use Favorite Reports, or Reports at all, take a look and try. A key for reports is the Customize on the left. Feel free to ask about something that holds you back from doing what you want with report.

I use many reports. I can't reset the Bond Summary and Net Worth Over Time reports. I could fix this by doing a Level 1 Standard Repair but then I will lose my settings for about 30 customised reports. Is there another solution?

You could try quick repair, standard level 2, and then quick again.
It is not probable this will fix things for you, I think it is worth a try.

Also, if this is a fairly recent development, you could restore a *.mbf from before the problem occurred.

Otherwise, I guess you could go to the harder-to-customize reports, and do a bunch of screen captures or take notes on the settings.

I have not looked at the Net Worth Over Time report, but I have the impression that that has features that other ports cannot do. I have never looked at the Bond Summary.

Thanks. That didn't work. The issue goes back some time so recovery from a recent backup file isn't possible. A level 1 repair does fix it. Is there a 'pro-forma' template for the offending report which can be copied across from a functioning PC or is the problem embedded in the user's money file?

The reports are all part of your Money file.   The right column consists of your "templates", and before resetting All Reports, I would first try recreating your misbehaving favorite reports using the  Bond Summary and Net Worth Over Time reports,, saving with a slightly different name, and then you can "organize favorites" to delete the misbehaving reports.

You have likely tried this already. But after opening up your report, clicking CUSTOMIZE on the left, the dialogue box that opens has a RESET button next to the APPLY button. In my mny file, the RESET button is greyed out and I don't know the conditions to make it active but someone here may know.

CORRECTION:   To modify the name of a Favorite Report, Favorites->OrganizeFavorites->Reports. Select the favorite, and click  Rename (lower right).

The original post erroneously has File in the path description.  I actually confused myself with that when I referred back to this article.
