Rats! I had been importing my credit card statements easily into Money by downloading a QFX file from B of A and then simply renaming the extension "OFX." before opening it in money. Now B of A has stopped offering that download and only allows CSV downloads. Is there a reliable and free app that will convert these to OFX?  Propersoft is not free.

Just to add, Merrill Lynch (same corporate ownership), has also just  removed the manual downloads (they previously provided both ofx and qfx downloads).   They say that you can still "pull" a qfx file into Quicken.  Is there any way (other than pocket sense which I could never get the hang of) to manually pull a qfx file from their server.

I messed with this in the past. https://www.quicknperlwiz.com/ Works fine doing CVS to QiF. BOA and Merril shut down the QFX validation servers 1 of September.

BOA and Merril now use the web connect plus method for online banking. There is no QFX file to pull down anymore.

CSV to OFX and QIF file conversion: Excel in Microsoft 365 current version this date. Ask Copilot to create either type of file from csv and it does!. Imported to Money without error!. There was a slight glitch, as Copilot could somehow not recognize that the csv was loaded into Excel, but i copied the cells, including the headers, into the conversation and both types of files were created for download without a hitch!

I use https://csvconverter.biz to convert csv to qif.
Found that qif worked better than ofx when importing to Microsoft Money.

When my bank in the UK did this a few years ago, I used an Excel extension XLSM2QIF

Looks like it still exists, or alternatively try this?

https://bitbucket.org/hleofxquotesteam/hleofxquotes/wiki/csv2ofx%20-%20Discover
java, I use it for downloading csv for Discover. A little learning curve, but then just drag csv to it, it make the qfx and sends it to money.

I'll second the nomination for hleofxquotes.   Fairly easy to use and tune to your needs.

Another alternative is available here:
Using BoA’s Aggregator feature for importing transactions from multiple sources into Money – MICROSOFT MONEY OFFLINE 🔴 Ameridan's Blog
It is a relatively simply python script that generates OFX files using the Bank of America My Financial Picture aggregator (so it allows you to download activity from multiple accounts and banks at once).
BoA just changed their webpage so the advanced (browser-automation) mode is currently broken, but the manual download/conversion process works fine and should fully replace the previous ofx download functionality for any BoA bank or credit card. Python 3.X installation required, but that's about it.
