Gaier software

[C Law]

I am unable to install this very useful software on my new PC as both Firefox and Bitdefender complain that its security certicate has expired. Can anyone help, please. I am using Money UK version

My installation file was  249,856 bytes long and named  MSMoneyQuotes.exe.

The SHA1 IS 5734c615bc1b12258ecce125678ea33eaf086af3

It is copyright 2023. Not sure if there is a newer one.

I would ignore the warning and download. 

If the SHA1 is the same as mine, the two files are identical. If it is not, it is probable that there is a newer version.

Good point, Joe.  MSMoneyQuotes.exe  is the program executable, and not an installer. The following gives the version and help info:

Usage: [-f file] [-p password] [-r] [-o] [-a] [-m] [-i file] [-t] [-c] [-v] [-b]

-f      Target a specific Money file.  By default, the current Money file is used.
-p      The password to use if the Money file is "Money Password" protected.
-r      Remember Password. Use with -p to save the password.  Use without -p afterwards to use the saved password automatically.
-o      Open Money if not already open.
-a      Automatically update quotes every 15 minutes as long as Money is open.
-m      Use SymbolMap.csv file to resolve symbols.
-i      Import quotes from csv file.
-t      Include additional timestamp column from csv file.  Use with -i to import historical quotes.
-c      Update currency exchange rates.
-v      Verbose output.
-b      Batch file mode. Suppress "Press any key..." prompts to allow running unattended from a batch file.

Guys
I think that I am running Money 2005 UK QFE2, it says Version 14.0.120.1105 on the 'About Money' in 'Help'.
Do you know if the Gaier software will run on the UK version?  I can't see it mentioned anywhere specifically, or not specifically!
I also have a PF of Oz shares does it pic them up too?

Hi Martin,

MSMoneyQuotes works for me on the international version of Money 2005, so it will most likely work for the UK version as well. It successfully picks up current quotes for stocks in France and South Africa, as well as UK managed funds. I suggest downloading the trial version first to see if it meets your needs.

Please note that it can take some time to identify the correct MSN Money references for managed funds. I found that the tool provided on the Gaier Software website yields the best results. I use a CSV table to match my international ISIN codes (which I use as symbols in MS Money) to those required by MSN Money. The website explains how to set this up and how to use the "-m" option to instruct the .exe file to use your mapping file.

I use MSMoneyQuotes using Money 2005 UK QFE2 and it works fine. The hard part is composing a symbol map and finding the right symbols from MSN Money

Yes the Gaier add on is great with UK final version once you have sorted out the symbols.

It should be apa4ww note that upper/lower case matters (I think)

Which value do I put in Money for Symbol so that MoneyQuotes will map?

I use both MSMQuote and Gaier's. For me, they both perform at the same speed, both deliver correct quotes and exchange rates. But MSMQuote has the advantages of providing the yield which for us is useful because of our dividend stocks. Also, the author of MSMQuote, Jonathan Casiot, is a member of this forum and he responds quickly to messages.
