Old data - password incorrect ?

I'm using the QFE2 versions of MS Money.

I tried opening a Money .MNY file from 2007, and the error message was "the password you have entered is incorrect".  Of course trying to remember what it was from 14 years ago, I did try several attemps, but no joy.

Is there a method to open the MNY file without a password ?  Also, as a privacy concern for the data, I have a firewall rule to block  MS Money from accessing the internet.  Is that compounding the problem ?
