Is there an alternative host we could use? Google Drive and Docs are both used quite heavily with agendas for calls etc using it. I'm not sure what we could use instead.

We don’t use google docs for publishing specs. They are all being written as AsciiDoc documents in GitHub and published as PDFs on release pages. Have you seen something else?

Google docs are only used for notes, especially meeting minutes. They are unofficial documents, mainly to publish info about internal development. I don't know about a better tool for that now.
