In the past, we vote on whether a new spec release can be done. Somehow it was discontinued. Can we revisit and bring it back so that the community can voice out their opinion towards a release?

Silence means approval. -1 will need an issue to back and explain why.

I would like to see it applied to MP 3.3 spec releases. Thoughts?

Is there a particular reason for this?

Even if we introduced it again, I don't think introducing it for MP 3.3 would be possible as there needs to be sufficient time for firstly the votes, and then the time to discuss possible -1 votes

The reason I brought up is that I was reminded that we as a community somehow have discontinued the vote for no reason - maybe we all forgot.
Ken, I agree that it is a bit tight to reactivate in MP 3.3. I think we should revisit this for June release. In June release, we either use the formal WG vote. If the WG is still not in place by then, we should do an informal vote.

Thanks
Emily

FYI - we are in the process of defining a spec process that is derived from the EFSP, which is part of the working group discussion.

Agreed John! I mentioned earlier that in the June's release, our WG would have been set up hopefully, which has a voting process.
Thanks
Emily
