MicroProfile without Kubernetes/OpenShift/Swarm/Containers?

Most of our clients don't have Swarm/OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure in place. I'm trying to find a replacement that runs on Java and only can run Java applications so that I can run it on different operating systems easily (Windows, Linux, AIX)

For example if I develop multiple MicroProfile fat jars. How would I manage deploying them to different servers and how would I make them discover each other?

I am not quite sure how you manage your microservices without the cloud infrastructure. Anyway, for service discovery, you might find this article useful.
