Hi all,

It's important that we have trusted representation from our community to deal with any matters arising out of the community code of conduct. Please send in your nominations for up to 3 people (after each person you'll be prompted to send in another nomination if you so wish).

Cheers,
Martijn

Who are the possible candidates?
Those who had a PR merged resulting in http://microprofile.io/contributors or everyone who posts to this list?

And who is really able to do this especially time-wise?

The shift towards an actual foundation that was hinted by several, wouldn't that bring the same effort anyway? See the likes of OCI and others (foundations that are co-located under another one like Linux Foundation)

Cheers,
Werner

Hi Werner,

Folks on this mailing list would be the appropriate pool of candidates.

It would be a very low time sink. I'd hope that issues would only arise once or twice a year max.

We have not yet voted to move or moved to a foundation, in the mean time I very strongly believe we need this set up.

Cheers,
Martijn

Hi Martijn,

Thanks for the clarification. For cases like the JCP awards, it may be unwritten, but a common understanding that for some categories people shoudn't nominate themselves. For other cases especially the JCP EC seats or similar (board or board-like) roles this is often not the case, especially for individual members (and e.g. Apache by definition only knows individuals;-)

So what's preferred in this case? I can't even say, if I have time. But others many of whom individuals probably are in a similar situation.

Although Mark felt offended by others advising not to call his package "javax" or similar, I was not the only one and there was no personal attack or language I'm aware of. In fact in the very first reply I suggested he may offer it to microprofile.io since comparable frameworks and initiatives (e.g. DropWizard) contain similar features. It took a while, but it seems, he's following that advise now.

Cheers,
Werner

Hi Werner,

I hope we can trust everyone not to nominate themselves :-).

Cheers,
Martijn
