I have made the PR with the initial version of MicroProfile Starter. (1)

I'll try to update the online demo as soon as possible so that everyone can evaluate it more easily.

Hi Rudy,

How does this Starter compare to MicroProfile Conference or MicroProfile Samples?

Especially the samples project was last updated a year ago, it certainly can't be up to date with any of the recent versions of the APIs?;-/

Wouldn't it make sense to archive some of these repositories to show they are no longer active?

Hi Werner,

MicroProfile Starter is a tool for generating a Maven project based on the MicroProfile specs.

It is not a sample or demo project.

Thank you Rudy for your initial PR!

The PR has been open for a few days. I took a quick look and it seems ok. Does anyone else want to review it more thoroughly? I thought we are trying to get the tool published. Should we aim to merge the PR this week and start working on the start.microprofile.io and then improve the tool when we find problems. A couple of options we have:

Option 1: give one more day for a quick review. If there are no review comments, merge COB tomorrow and then work on starter.microprofile.io

Option 2: don't merge as yet. Get more reviews.

Good point, Werner.

I suggest we add a description to all MP repositories to avoid confusion. Since only Eclipse webmaster's can do that, I've requested to add a  description for the starter repo here: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=539793

I''ve also updated the instructions for requesting a new repository on our wiki: https://wiki.eclipse.org/MicroProfile/EclipseCreateNewRepository

Hang one... the website is not available as yet. I think we need to get the source first and then work on the site. It is too early to add a link to the non-existent site. Once the site is live, a link can be added.

Hi Emily, does it really matter of the site exists?  I think that all repos should have a description of what they are for. And we clearly intend to publish this app on the web, euther under the start.microprofile.io URL or somewhere else. The intention is clear and should be in the description. But feel free to comment on bugzilla and request a different description.

I think it does. If the site does not exist, clicking on it will go nowhere, which will send a bad impression. Besides we did not utlise the description that much as it needs to raise a bug to get it updated. I think put a static message there might be ok, something like, MicroProfile code generator. I will update the bugzilla to mention this.

Hi Emily,

I did have issues last week of getting the demo up and running again due to the limitations of my free cloud account.

I did not have time before today to have a look at it, but now it is up and running again.
