MicroProfile Starter : feedback on MicroProfile Live Hangout Meeting Minutes

Hi,

I saw that there was some discussion about the MicroProfile starter app which I created.

Here is some feedback on the questions found in the meeting minutes.

> Getting error messages when clicking back from “Options” to “Basics” screens

Do mean you see an error message that the field is required? I can rework this, maybe we need a new design (see further on)

> Where are the other implementations of MicroProfile (there should be 6)?

To my knowledge, I have implemented all servers compatible with MP 1.2 and 1.3 (based on https://wiki.eclipse.org/MicroProfile/Implementation and info on the site of the implementations). If I miss something, I'll add them of course.

> Should Java EE options be removed since we want this started to be dedicated to MicroProfile?

There is a specific version for MicroProfile (with no Java EE http://mp-starter-jessie.1d35.starter-us-east-1.openshiftapps.com/mp-starter/ but has sometimes issues due to my limited account on OpenShift v3)

> Improve look-and-feel (make it prettier)

I agree. I'm not some who can create good-looking apps (only which function properly, well most of the time). So maybe someone good at UX can propose something.

> Improve wizard instructions so that user understands what’s happening at each screen

Yes, please, all suggestions are welcome.

> Is there a user’s guide? Instructions?

No, but my idea was to add some more info/instructions on the right-hand side of the screens. Thoughts and ideas are welcome. See also UX remark.

Maybe it should just be one screen, not different screens.

I have almost finished another request, specify which type of CDI beans.xml the user wants (implicit, all mode or annotated mode). Will be available after my holiday break (back from August 20th)

All feedback and suggestions welcome of course.

I have been meaning to ask you to attend MP bi-weekly call to report on the MP starter so that the website can be created etc. Will you be able to attend the next one, which is Tuesday next week? You can find the details from MicroProfile calendar.
