I'll go ahead and try to get the discussion rolling.
I honestly think the marketing goals and activities need a major revamp.
A lot of the content is outdated, low priority, vague, not actionable
enough, or has not been committed to for a long time. It's difficult to
make meaningful progress with that context. I am proposing a much more
streamlined, measurable, actionable and committed approach consisting of
just two slides with no more than five simple points.
The first should be concrete goals for CY 2024:
* Grow adoption in industry surveys that measure MicroProfile by 30%.
* Grow website visits by 30%.
* Grow social media following by 30%.
* Grow MicroProfile Starter usage by 30%.
* Grow overall marketing content output by 30%.
The second should be five key achievable activities:
* Incrementally fund official MicroProfile Tutorial.
* Improve the website in specific ways such as individual specification
pages and a "top contributors" page.
* Print a limited amount of swag to give to MicroProfile speakers and
attendees at events.
* Provide limited sponsorship to strategically aligned events such as
EclipseCon Java Community Day.
* Fund two compelling MicroProfile adoption stories/interviews by users,
nominated by vendors or the community.
What do you think?
