A couple of quick things. Some status stuff, some needs stuff, and so on.  Just want everyone to be kept in the loop.

There is also a google group we created back in 2019 for planning and coordination https://groups.google.com/g/microhamsfd  If we want to use it, you can either request to be added, or I (or Scott) can just add everyone.

Apparently notifications for sharing isn't working for my onedrive account.   Some of the planning tools, like last year's spreadsheet that was somewhat updated for 2025, were shared to the MicroHAMS folder and with some of you specifically, but you weren't getting the message (or at least Scott wasn't).  I'll look into that in the morning.

The FD locator stuff is up to date, but I don't have a phone number to put in there yet and I don't have time to screw with google voice to set something up.  Being able to call to get directions or for a timid ham to call and hear it's ok to come visit would be good.  And I don't mind it even being piped to my cell, but I'm not willing to just put my cell number in the ARRL web form.

The trailer is loaded.  7 tables, backup generator, 6 chairs (two for each of the three stations) network cable (we'll have to build cables...) a switch, 8 or so power extension cords, and other stuff on our checklist.  The trailer is staged at Granite Falls and I'll bring it to the site Friday morning.

Scott will be bringing DEM 10 to be used as the VHF station, and he has both his personal IC-9700 and IC-7300 for 70cm, 2m and 6m, and the two IC-7300s Icom loaned us (I am bringing my 7300 for the 3rd HF station) and we have several wire antennas (though the plan right now is a dedicated 40m and a dedicated 80m antenna plus Scott's Buddihex.

A "confirmed" headcount right now is 13.  I've not heard from any scouts, and I've not heard from anyone from BEARONS other than Mark (though I really do home people come), and I've not heard from any SnoCoACS folks other than Wayne, but I'm expecting people to drop in and several DEM staff told me that they plan to stop by.  And I haven't received any RSVP from club members but I'm expecting at least two people who stopped by last year to come again.

That's it for the moment.  I think it would be a good idea to move this over to the google group so let me know if you don't think that's a good idea, or if you don't want to be added to that group.

73,
Grant

sorry, I'm woefully behind on email, I've been on-call for Azure Core since last Sat, and spend the last 2 days 10+ hours on outage bridges as IM...
good news, I'm off rotation starting 10pm tonight (and off Fri-Sun), yay.

I'm still on the hook for BBQ, but haven't had a chance of creating a food&beverage spreadsheet as I had planned on. I hope to get one sent tonight?

Grant, thanks for gathering a head count, for now 13; I'll plan BBQ for ~24 folks, so 12-16 lbs of raw meat, most likely brisket. I'll go buy that today, since I need to get that hunk of meat trimmed and dry-rubbed tonight.

If we don't slice all the meat, I'm sure we'll have eager takers for any leftover BBQ; my trailer does have a fridge to store leftover meats till Sun afternoon.

I saw on another thread that Scott has some brats, so that covers the other Saturday meal. Grant already volunteered beans, so only thing left is some coleslaw and maybe I can convince Lisa for some corn bread?

I'll summarize that into a spreadsheet tonight.

BTW: I've very open for BBQ be either at lunch or evening, I'll need to know on-site on Fri by early afternoon, to know when to start the smoker.

Hopefully the brisket slept well last night and is well rested.

Let me know if I can chip in on the food, or bring chips.

I have heard that some things may arrive on site towards 10:30 AM today.

There was a thought of arriving a bit early but it's still wet and raining (lightly, soaking) out here (Granite Falls).  Visibility is about 1/2 mile (IFR conditions).

I would take your time and pack up, double check everything.  I'm shooting for 11:30.  Noon for sure.

If anyone has some short coax jumpers, they would be appreciated (I need 5).  Some longer coaxes for the VHF+ station could be good as well.  It turns out, we'll have a pretty tall tower.

See you soon!

The brisket is now napping safely in my airstream’s fridge, next to a quart of my BBQ sauce.

I’ll stop in Monroe on my way up, so Don and everyone else, please mark and confirm in the doc below what you’re already bringing (I’ve seen Don’s and Grant’s edits, and Scott’s earlier brats email, thx); or add what is missing.

I’ll probably pass through Monroe by 11-ish (adjusting my time up as well)

Btw: what’s the food plan for our posse setting up today? I have some Bolognese sauce frozen patties (home made, of course), and can bring spaghetti for tonight’s dinner..

Wow, very fancy.  I think last year, I just ran back to Granite Falls for pizza.

Ok, I’ll bring some frozen sauce patties and pasta, we can decide what’s for today’s dinner later.
What’s the best size estimate for our posse, 6-8 people?

Great to hear from you!
At least one more RSVP (Paolo) and I didn't count Andrew, but he did email me a few weeks ago saying he was planning to come.

So, things I'm bringing:  Besides a huge thing of beans that just went into the oven for 13 hours of slow cooking, lemons and limes for the water (and unless someone else is bringing one a 5 gal water cooler), I'm bringing a flat of costco water, and I'm hoping to get over to Costco (in Everett) Friday to pick up a half sheet cake for Saturday (Vickie says it must be chocolate for BBQ, but I can be persuaded to get vanilla.)  I have ketchup, mustard, relish in a squeeze bottle, and single serve packets of mayo.  I'm bringing a small number of hot dogs and I'll pick up buns at costco.

Depending on time, I might attempt to cook some other stuff.  Right now it's doubtful, but if things go smoothly, I might have more time.

In my experience, lunch Saturday is probably a "loose" thing, so probably make the smoked meat more like an early dinner I'd think, but this is just one perspective.

I'm guessing that today we'll see closer to 10 (right now I know of 7 from MH at a minimum)

also, (everyone) if you have a HT, bring it and tune it to 146.580

That sounds way fancier than "box of clif bars and water"
I think we put the right guy in charge of food....

Vickie is correct.  Chocolate.

The rain has stopped in Granite Falls and it's getting brighter.

Back to packing.

Chocolate’s my pref, too :-)

I’ll have another flat of water bottles, and will bring ice and a medium sized eski (ice box).
Since Grant has already buns/rolls on his list, I’ll only bring white bread

I’m still on for eggs for brekkie, and I have sourdough bread for brekkie, see list

I have stuff for a coleslaw salad, so that has us covered with Grant’s beans (looking forward to that slow cook!)

Unless anyone else already has plates, silverware, cups, napkins, I can bring those
