Hi Everyone,

Here are the details for microeconomics study group this week.

This week's topic: Production (continued); International trade and tarriffs

Reminders:
  • Please arrive on time and let us know if you are going to be late (also if we are more than 10 minutes for our classroom reservation we will forfeit the space and the room will be given to a waiting group).
  • The primary objective of this study group session will be to review assignment #6. Please arrive to the group session with this assignment completed in order to utilize our shared time in a productive manner.
  • Please review the newly posted practice problems on costs and trade under Prof. Beck's handouts.
  • The remainder of the time will be dedicated to reviewing Sample Exam #1 in preparation for the midterm. Please come prepared with notes, comments and questions from the exam review/tutorial.
I know with our powers combined we can prevent micro meltdowns/panic attacks about the midterm exam.

See you this weekend!

Hi Micro Team,

I was just doing the homework assignment for this week and 2 of the 3 questions refer to topics that we have not yet covered in class but are detailed in the reading for this week (KW chapter 19). Specifically, question 2 is about the Value Marginal Product of Labor and question 3 incorporates Compensating Differentials. I hope this helps you all finish the homework quickly and come to happy hour tonight :)

Best,
Meg

Thank you Meghan! Too bad I saw this after spending a few more minutes than I should have on it haha. This was really helpful.

Micro exam #1 review was extremely helpful and I strongly recommend going. We went over the entire exam, explaining each step and answering questions and finished in 2 hours. It was reassuring to know that 2 hours should be enough time to complete the exam and we got out early. It was also helpful in identifying personal strengths and weaknesses for the test topics so that I know what to focus on understanding this week.

See you tomorrow!
Meghan
