Dear Colleagues:

If any one is aware of a similar or similarly simple (?) proof of Proposition 1, that has been documented, then please do provide me with their references. 

Needless to say, that many would have known such a proof but may not have put it down on paper because it seemed obvious. To all of them a warm "Thank you very much" since that gave me the opportunity to do some fruitful thinking, towards "rediscovering the wheel".
