Hello,

I have compiled the latest driver on Kubuntu Hardy Heron, but
unfortunately the webcam 624e doesn't work. I tried several driver
versions without success. The I tried the latest driver which has v4l
support included (30.06.08). This driver works fine, I get a picture
with mplayer. I still have some issues with some applications. On some
flash based applications which include webcam support, the picture
doesn't zoom, this means that I get only a certain percentage of the
screen depending on the window size which is captured. In Skype I do
not get any picture.

My question. My doesn't the latest driver work with the 624e cam? Are
you aware of these problems? How can I get a fix?

Thanks in advance

Holger

That's really bad.

I think it was broken during the last pushes yesterday. (An essential
patch was left out.)
Could you check whether last weeks version works fine?

No - I posted this after the push (I think :) ).

The patch I was referring to is the current HEAD. I pushed it in a hurry
yesterday because Neekhil had left it out and without it 624e would be
totally broken.

Currently the driver works for me but maybe I made a mistake when I
rebased this last commit.

Hi Thomas

Can you test with the latest git version ?
Instructions are here
https://groups.google.com/group/microdia/web/testing-microdia-driver-draft

use Mplayer to test like so
$ mplayer tv:// -tv
driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:fps=25:device=/dev/video0 -vo x11

if its still not working, set the debug level to 4 & see if any errors,
If it shows some errors, send us the output of $ dmesg command.

thank you all.
I'm so glad I didn't break it and all the hours invested weren't a waste
of time.
