Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000 not working

Hi!
I've been trying out the stuff I've found around on this.
So, I do:

git clone http://repo.or.cz/r/microdia.git

and that works. Then I run the 'make' command and it seems to work and then I get:

What do these errors mean, and how do I fix them? I can't go on, because the next part is about the

insmod ./sn9c20x.ko

and I don't have that file yet. :P

If ya'll can help me at all, with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Additional information:

Skype detects the camera, and I'm not sure if it uses the microphone
from the camera, or the internal one.
I can hear people and see them, and they can hear me, but they can't
see me. The option to 'start video' is available but it does nothing
when I try to start the video.

On Gmail Video Chat, they can see both themselves and me, and
sometimes they can hear me, but I can't see either. I can hear them.

I just found out that the package 'microdia-dkms' never/doesn't install correctly. It comes up with this error:

Maybe that's just because almost all 'microdia' sensors/ccds
are supported by the gspca driver by now.
So theoretically there's no need for the microdia
driver at all by now...

Also, it might help if you would tell us what kind of
hardware you're trying to get working....

Hardware? I don't know too much about that, so I'm not quite sure what exactly you want to know. The laptop is a Dell Inspiron 600m if that helps at all...

Google doesn't say anything about a build in webcam.

So you're probably using some sort of external USB
imaging device.

What Make/Model would that be ?
What does it say on the label, what does
'lsusb -v' tell you about the connected devices ?

This device should work out of the box with all kernels 2.6.31+ so there is no need to use this old driver.

This is not a built-in one. It plugs in to the laptop via a usb port. It doesn't have a label on it, but the command 'lsusb' tells me this about it:

that's what it looks like it is trying to use, but it doesn't do its job properly. I can't get the thing to work. Basically the two applications I want it working on is Skype and Google Chat. Skype is highest priority for me.

With Skype it basically won't let me turn my video on. Period. But the audio works fine. I can see and hear the other person, but they can't see me.
With GChat it's a bit more complicated. They can see both me and them, but I can't see either of us. I can usually hear them, and it's a toss-up as to whether they can hear me or not.

Is it at all possible to get this working on the laptop, or should I just abort it?
