Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get some help on how to properly analyze cell width of bacterial cells.
I currently have shape and profile selected under my options, but whenever I look at my results window, I do no see the option for width under the SHAPE column. I only find width under the pole subgroup.

From reading the manual online it seems obvious the pole width will not give the correct value for cell width, specially if you have a mutant strain that has one pole "wider" than the other pole. And I am not looking for width just at the poles, I want a mean width of the entire cell.

Can someone help me figure out how to calculate the mean cell width? Am i forgetting to select something at beginning, or am I supposed to extract the width data from another tab in my results window?

I appreciate the help!

I am pretty sure the width data there is not referring to the pole specifically... actually if you also include feature detection, the data for parent.localization.width is the same as what is listed for cells as shape.width.
