Detection mode with helical cells

Hi Everyone, 

I am trying to use microbeJ to analyze the morphology of helical cells (specifically campylobacter). I am having trouble deciding whether the medial axis or fit-shape/crescent mode of detection is more appropriate. Anyone else using microbeJ to analyze helical cells? What mode of detection are you using?
